Davidsonville against crime

The initiative was in support of the 16 Days of Activism for no Violence against Women and Children

Saturday, 30 November saw the residents of Davidsonville in partnership with the Davidsonville Community Patrol (DCP) took to the streets in demonstration of their first colour March against crime.

The initiative was in support of the 16 Days of Activism for no Violence against Women and Children which started on 25 November up until 10 December.

DCP Chairman, Hussain Petersen said, “Our main focus is to empower the youth of Davidsonville, get them to be business minded. We are also in the process of launching educational programs and have the whole community participating.”

Kann Development CEO, Elizabeth Kannemeyer was also in attendance and confirmed that they will be offering a free training program that will be held in Davidsonville.

The event took place at Davidsonville Stadium were live DJ’s, kids entertainment, games and a soccer tournament that had the crowd cheering.

Petersen said, “This is our first year of running the event and it was such a success, we will definitely be doing a bigger and better event in 2020.”
