Jozi Tese Festival lives up to expectation

The crowd waited patiently for the arrival of the country’s current best performer, Sho madjozi who did not disappoint the highly appreciative crowd ranging from young children to adults.

The long-awaited third edition of the annual Jozi Tese Festival in partnership with BET came to life on Saturday, 30 November at the multi-purpose Ruimsig Stadium.

Friends, families and music lovers came out to celebrate the city in all its glory while enjoying the outdoor style of the festival.

South African celebrities, which included Kaiser Chiefs Football manager, Bobby Motaung and former Orlando Pirates captain, Edward Magents Motale were among the VIPs.

Ruimsig Stadium was transformed into a colourful, prestigious music hub, food paradise and a wide variety of drinks on offer for young and old.

The MC for the day was actor and TV presenter, Kamoo Letsosa who kept the crowd on their feet with her bubbly and sparkling character.

The impressive line-up ranged from the velvety sounds of the saxophone to the unstoppable Afro pop music duo, Mafikizolo.

Later in the evening the king of dance music, DJ Ganyani lit up the venue and made it clear why he was back by popular demand for the third time.

Commenting on the change of venue for this year’s festival – from Walter Sisulu National Botanical Garden to the lush green Ruimsig Stadium – Riba said, “While selecting the venue for this festival, we considered one venue that would provide us with excellent facilities, beautiful scenery and tranquil surroundings”.
