Man struck by truck in Ruimsig and left to die
It is alleged that the driver got out of the truck, dragged the injured man to the side of the road and covered him with the tarp.

On Monday, 23 March BCI Security received a call at around 10am from their reaction officer who was stopped on Hole-In-One Avenue in Ruimsig by Johannesburg Roads Agency (JRA) workers after they had come across an injured man lying on the pavement.
The workers were busy resurfacing the road when they heard moaning coming from under a plastic tarp.
When the workmen investigated they discovered a man in serious pain. They learnt that at around 5am, the man was collecting cans from dustbins when a truck struck him from behind.
It is alleged that the driver got out of the truck, dragged the injured man to the side of the road and covered him with the tarp.
He lay there for about three hours before he was found by the JRA workers.
BCI Security immediately contacted ER24, who treated the man and stabilised him before transporting him to Helen Joseph Hospital.
The community is urged to come forward with any information with regards to the incident. Anyone who might have witnessed the incident is urged to contact the Honeydew Police on 011 801 8400 immediately.
