Talents showcased on athletics field for spot at SA championships
The athletes who qualified for the SA Championships will participate in the competition at a later stage due to the closing of the school.
The athletics season is in full swing and athletes from all over the province are competing for a spot at the South African Championships.
All athletes start the season by competing in the Interhouse primary athletics competition. Thereafter they go to the Interschools competition, followed by the District Championships. After the District championships they compete at the regional championships for a spot in the provincial team.
Athletes who made it through to the Gauteng Championships to represent the Johannesburg West team, competed against various other teams on 13 and 14 March at Ruimsig Stadium, for the opportunity to be selected for participation in the South African Championships.
