Discouraging this behaviour, Knott reminded the residents rather to be grateful for what they have and support those who are in need.

The 21-day national lockdown has restricted a lot of movement in society in an attempt to combat the spread of the deadly coronavirus.
Those complaining about not being allowed to take walks and buy alcohol were put in their places by Ward 97 councillor Leah Knott for lacking to see the bigger picture.
“Whilst fielding dozens of calls from those angry about not being able to walk around, we’ve also been ensuring that informal residents get basic water tankers.
“Whilst dealing with frustration from those not being allowed to walk their dogs, we are also manically trying to ensure that indigent people get food parcels because they have no income over the next 21 days.
“Whilst fighting about the availability of alcohol, some people won’t be seeing their kids or loved ones because they can’t get home or can’t share custody,” said Knott, addressing the ‘petty’ complaints.
Discouraging this behaviour, Knott reminded the residents rather to be grateful for what they have and support those who are in need.
“I am exceptionally grateful that I can spend three weeks with my family in a safe space with enough food and entertainment. Yes, I’m probably still working too many hours, but I can do so knowing the most important people in my life are safe and with me,” she reflected, further reminding that the three weeks is a blip in the grand scheme of things, and that it is a frustrating but temporary period.
