Rapper locked in his room makes music

After putting those projects as well as soccer coaching on hold, he said the idea came about to fine-tune his music.

While the majority of the residents are running out of ideas to keep themselves occupied during the 21-day lockdown, local rapper Ismael ‘Ishmiza’ Masuku has decided to use this ‘break’ to work on his album. Although the budding talent was forced to halt some of the activities on his calendar, the lockdown gave him the needed time to focus on making music in his bedroom studio.

“The lockdown and the coronavirus outbreak have forced me to postpone two important events I was organising, namely, the Miss Zandspruit pageant, which was set for the end of March, and another project,” he said.

After putting those projects as well as soccer coaching on hold, he said the idea came about to fine-tune his music.

“I think it’s been a great opportunity to focus on my music and record more since I have my own recording studio at home. I want to use this time to finish my album,” an optimistic Ishmiza said.

When asked what he plans on doing after the lockdown, he responded, “Hopefully I would be done with my album which I plan on dropping in winter, and from there I will go back to work and finish organising the pageant, which I believe will be a success,” he explained.

As for residents who are contravening the lockdown protocol, the youngster appealed to them to stay at home. “I think people should remain in their homes and watch the news to get a picture of what the coronavirus is doing globally. People must stop being ignorant because this virus is deadly,” he pleaded, encouraging everyone to follow government protocol in order to fight this disease.

To get a glimpse of what he is cooking in his studio, Ishmiza provided the link for his track titled I want Some More, featuring Fran Caluso.
