According to the Florida Police's spokesperson, Sergeant Mpho More, the suspect, a 56-year-old woman, was arrested on Thursday, 7 May

A woman captured on video while she was hurling insults and racial slurs, as well as allegedly assaulting another motorist after a bumper bashing on Golf Club Terrace in Florida on 4 May, has been arrested.

Siphosethu Ngomane shared a recording of the confrontation on Twitter, which caught the attention of Gauteng community safety MEC Faith Mazibuko.

According to the Florida Police’s spokesperson, Sergeant Mpho More, the suspect, a 56-year-old woman, was arrested on Thursday, 7 May and charged with crimen injuria, as well as malicious injury to property (MI2P).

More explained, “It is alleged that on Monday, 4 May, at about 5.24pm the complainant was the passenger in her boyfriend’s car when they saw the car in front of them swerving as if there was something wrong with the driver.

The vehicle subsequently collided with a lamp post. The complainant and her boyfriend immediately stopped and switched on their vehicle’s hazards to help the driver. When they returned to their vehicle after helping the driver who had suffered an epileptic seizure, they found that a charcoal Toyota Corolla with two occupants had collided with their vehicle.”

More added that when Ngomane tried to talk to the occupants, an altercation ensued, and the driver of the Toyota started yelling and swearing, saying they would not pay the damages.

The woman allegedly slapped Ngomane’s phone out of her hand and, besides swearing at them, she also allegedly resorted to using racial slurs.
