Smash and grab horror in Wilro Park

A traumatised elderly woman from Wilro Park became the victim of a smash and grab outside of Kruin Park Retirement Village yesterday, 22 May.

 

At approximately 10.40am yesterday, 22 May, an elderly woman became a traumatised victim of a smash and grab after withdrawing her pension money.

The elderly woman was reportedly followed home from the Pick n Pay where she withdrew her money and was cornered outside of Kruin Park Retirement Village. The armed suspects proceeded to smash the woman’s car window and steal her handbag before fleeing.

Shots were fired, but it has not been confirmed who fired them. The suspects fled in a Charcoal Audi A3 with the vehicle registration VWY223GP.

The suspects unfortunately managed to get away, but the elderly woman was thankfully not harmed, she is however, severely traumatised.

Ward 85 councillor, Sonja Meyer, paid a visit to the woman to check in on her, and the Roodekrans Neighbourhood Watch (RNW) was on scene, but at this moment no further information has been received.
