Although the outlook for load shedding remains bleak, Eskom has announced there will be slight relief over the weekend.
In the meanwhile Eskom has announced earlier stage one load shedding from 6am until 10pm but then during the morning said as of 2pm it will phase into stage two.
They once again cited “a shortage of generating capacity due to maintenance” as the reason for load shedding.
Eskom has asked the public to assist in saving electricity by switching off geysers and pool pumps, non-essential lights and appliances, efficient use of air conditioners and heeding television alerts.
