Randpark Golf Club (RGC) finally launched FootGolf on their Bushwillow course alongside FootGolf South Africa on 3 June.
After many years of success at the off-site, municipality-owned and RGC-managed Creek 9, the club undertook the decision to introduce FootGolf to its Bushwillow course.
The new course that has been launched at Bushwillow will run adjacent to the golf course and will consistent of 18 holes, instead of the nine that are on offer at Creek 9.
FootGolf, in a nutshell, is a combination of football (soccer) and golf, loosely following the rules of golf, with relevant adaptations of the rules to suit the FootGolf setup.
FootGolf South Africa (FGSA), who attended the launch at Randpark, is the only exclusive member of the Federation for International FootGolf (FIFG) and sole recognised governing body for the sport of FootGolf in South Africa.

The ball used in FootGolf is simply a soccer ball, so as to not damage the golf course.
There are strict rules regarding the attire that players must wear. Standard FootGolf attire consists of a cap, a collared shirt, golf pants or shorts, knee-high argyle socks and indoor or turf soccer shoes.
No football or rugby boots are allowed on the course, and informal soccer uniforms of all kinds are strictly prohibited.
FootGolf is a much easier, relaxed way to introduce anyone to the game of golf, keeping it simple and enjoyable for all.
