The rewards of Bryanston High’s nappy and formula drive were reaped by the LIV Village in Lanseria when the school handed over a large donation parcel to the orphanage’s baby home.
Nicole Gillette runs the baby home which has been able to help 65 babies, 44 of which have been adopted. “We are home for babies who are on the road to finding a forever family through the process of adoption. Many of our babies were abandoned while others have had biological families that have consented for their child to be adopted,” she explained.
“We are currently home to 14 babies between the ages of two months and two years. As you can imagine we go through many nappies per month.”
She added that Bryanston High’s donation is welcome as it will make a great contribution. “On average we go through 2 400 nappies per month. We are always grateful when people of our community share time, money, effort, supplies and love with our family at LIV Lanseria.”

According to Bronwynne Byrne, spokesperson for the school, all of the products that were donated were collected by the learners themselves. “We are always so incredibly proud of our Bryanston learners that continue to support all our charity drives so generously,” Byrne said.
Gillette added that it is always encouraging to see youngsters participate and donate. “It is especially encouraging when young people, who are often accused of being self-focused, give so generously to help little ones like ours.”
