Cancer patient gets treat of a lifetime from King David pupils

SANDTON - Cancer sufferer Daniel Rock was given a special treat when 400 children from the Sandton area prepared some special treats to show their love.

The children prepared packets of ready-made challah (Jewish braided bread) dough in all shapes and sizes in support of Rock.

Early childhood educator Chana Rivka Lewin said the dough was prepared by the children of King David Primary School and Chabad Sandton to cheer up the 10-year-old.

“This amazing event spearheaded by Lara Kahanovitz, a King David Sandton mom, together with her devoted team of moms and it has received a huge amount of support,” she said.

She also added that the food was prepared ahead of the upcoming Jewish New Year of Rosh Hashanah, to be celebrated on 24 September, and she stressed the importance of giving and the power of charity.
