The Oscars of the design world
WOODMEAD - Caitlin Leahy and Netanje Oosthuizen of Diad described the awards ceremony as the Oscars of the design world, taking note of the glamour and prestige they encountered when they went to Venice for the event.

“The project entered into the competition was for the work we did for the Emirates’ first and business class lounges at the Dubai International Airport,” Leahy explained.
“It was so exciting for a South African design company to be represented. There were many internationally-renowned designers, and Diad was up there with them.”
Oosthuizen said the company, owned and managed by Shiree Darley, is a dynamic interior design company and, although only operational for six years, in that time has won multiple international awards, including two for the Dubai airport.
“The short-listing is truly something to be proud of as we were voted in as the top two finalists, it is a great achievement,” said Darley.
“We are working on some wonderful hotel and residential projects at the moment, including ongoing work at the Dubai International Airport, and are all very excited about further potential awards in the future.”
