Sandton SPCA creates awareness in cycle challenge

SANDTON - The Sandton SPCA put wheel to tar and spread the word about their mobile clinic programme when 30 riders represented the organisation at the Momentum 947 Cycle Challenge on 15 November.

Taking on the rough conditions, the team went across the finish line along with 33 000 other participants and raised over R65 000 for the organisation.

Spokeperson of Sandton SPCA, Kylie Coleman said, “The funds raised will be put towards the Sandton SPCA Mobile Clinic Programme, where we offer animal care services to the underprivileged in areas such as Alexandra and Troyeville, who have no means of transport and who are unable to afford standard veterinary care.”

Coleman added, “The Sandton SPCA would like to extend a big thank you to the team of riders as well as to this year’s sponsors, Thermaflow, Ceri Von Ludwig Attorneys and Greenspace Studio, for giving back in such a meaningful way.”

The organisation is looking for animal lovers willing to participate or sponsor the Sandton SPCA in next year’s cycle challenge and get involved to help them make a bigger impact next year.
