Children excel at soccer

SANDTON – The Junior Colleges Tiny Town held a prizegiving ceremony to award young soccer stars.

 

Proud parents to the children of Junior Colleges Tiny Town watched their little soccer stars show off their skills after receiving awards at the Annual Soccer Starz Prize Giving event.

Soccer Starz is an optional weekly extramural activity available at Junior colleges Tiny Town. The coaches are trained by Gregory Essien and the lessons focus on gross motor development and ball skills. Through this activity, the children gain strength and confidence in their soccer abilities.

Bev O’Shea, principal of Junior Colleges Tiny Town said, “Participating in group activities teaches children the importance of teamwork and sportsmanship and enhances the development of listening and planning skills.

“Movement and physical activity is an essential factor in intellectual growth. Movement is at the very centre of young children’s lives and is an important facet of all aspects of their development, whether in the motor, cognitive, or affective domains of human behaviour.”
