A glamour event for street children in Parkmore

PARKMORE – Fashion, food and interiors to help street children in South Africa.

 

A glamorous fusion of fashion, food and interiors was showcased at Parkmore on 7 May all for a good cause.

Interior design guru, David Muirhead, teamed up with Sun Goddess creator, Vanya Mangaliso and culinary genius, Vicky Crease, for the red carpet event.

The beneficiary of the event, StreetSmartSA, is a non-profit organisation dedicated to the social integration and upliftment of street children. It has been in operation since June 2005 under the founding patronage of Archbishop Desmond Tutu.

Guests were spoiled with an indulgent high tea whilst perusing through the spectacular Fine Living venue and viewing Muirhead’s unique decorating style and decor.

Crease presented an overview of the latest food trends and the afternoon culminated with a fashion show of Mangaliso’s latest Sun Goddess collection.

Director for StreetSmart, Melanie Burke said, “The initiative of adding R5 onto your restaurant bill for vulnerable street children has proven to be extremely successful. Many drops make a river and we thank everyone who has contributed.”
