Hotel butler makes strides
SANDTON – Hotel butler Onkarabile Mokoto publishes his fourth book while acting career takes shape.

The name Onkarabile Mokoto needs no introduction to Sandton Chronicle readers.
Mokoto was featured in Sandton Chronicle five months ago in the article Sandton butler releases his third self-published book [Week ending 9 April]. The 34-year-old who works as a butler at one of Sandton’s popular hotels recently launched a speaking academy and released his fourth book, Power of Planning. The book motivates individuals to capitalise on their strengths and capabilities.
“Most of my books are motivating, people don’t realise their potential at times and this book reminds them that they are powerful and they can fulfil their potential,” he explained.
Mokoto has also launched a speaking academy aimed at equipping others with better communication. After attending several leadership courses, he saw the need to share his knowledge with others. “I have big dreams for this academy, I want to help people improve with communication skills and other aspects in life to build them.”

The author has also been nominated in three categories at the African Poetry and Print Authors Awards. Mokoto is in the running for Best International Author, Best Male Author and Best Motivational Speaker. “It feels good to be nominated for these awards. I am mostly happy for the Best International Author nominee and I’m just crossing fingers. The awards will take place on the 19 October.”
To put the cherry on top, Mokoto is close to making a breakthrough in TV. “These books have opened doors for me to be quite honest. I can reveal that I have already started expanding my skills, I have been shooting with a number of soapies and I can reveal that I will be making an appearance on Skeem Saam in December.”
