Region E confirms 271 cases of Covid-19
SANDTON – Region E includes Alexandra, Wynberg, Sandton, Orange Grove and Houghton.
The Gauteng Department of Health has confirmed that Covid-19 cases in the City of Johannesburg have reached 1 029 as of 8 May.
The city recorded an increase of 20 cases with a total of 816 recoveries and 103 unallocated.
The northern suburbs of regions B and E remain at the epicentre of the virus outbreak in the city with a combined total of 433 cases.
Region B, which includes Randburg, Rosebank, Emmarentia, Greenside, Melville, Mayfair, Northcliff, Parktown and Parktown North, now stands at a total of 162 cases.
Region E, which includes Alexandra, Wynberg, Sandton, Orange Grove and Houghton, has remained at 271.
