Soweto derby is sold out

JOBURG - The MTN8 semi-final second leg derby between Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs is sold out.

If you haven’t bought your ticket for the eagerly anticipated MTN8 semi-final return leg clash between Soweto arch-rivals Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs, there is bad news: the derby is now sold out.

The two giants will clash at the Orlando Stadium on Heritage Day, 24 September, to decide who goes to the final of the MTN8 at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban on 28 September.

“This is great news for the Premier Soccer League and our partners, MTN. This shows that there is an overwhelming interest not only on this game but on the competition.

“Those without a ticket for this fixture will have to watch on television or purchase a ticket for the second semi-final between Bidvest Wits and Platinum Stars,” said the league CEO Brand de Villiers.

Tickets for the second semi-final between Bidvest Wits and Platinum Stars on the same day are on sale at Computicket and at Shoprite. They too, with just over 1 000 tickets available, are selling like hot cakes.

De Villiers added, “As millions in our country will be celebrating Heritage Day, we are looking forward to join the festivities when we host what I believe will be two thrilling fixtures on 24 September. We are looking forward to delivering two great events at the Orlando Stadium and Bidvest Stadium.”
