Theatre fanatics celebrate unveiling
SANDTON - Guests were invited to the unveiling of the new Auto and General Theatre on the Square.

Theatre owner and producer, Daphne Kuhn was proud to announce that the sponsorship baton and naming rights of the theatre have been passed on to Auto and General Insurance.
The theatre’s new look was designed by world-renowned designer, Stephen Falcke and Carolyn Steyn’s Patronage. Auto and General Insurance and Kuhn, arranged the official unveiling of the theatre on 20 March and the celebration was hosted by Steyn and her husband Douw.
The event followed the theatre’s 12 nominations for the 11th Annual Naledi Awards this year. The theatre has collected many awards and nominations for theatre excellence throughout the years. Since the theatre’s establishment in 1997 it has been recognised as a popular arts and entertainment venue at the Nelson Mandela Square.
The varied and acclaimed productions in the 200-seater adds a vibrant dimension to the entertainment industry, and to the cultural enrichment of all.
In true theatre fashion, the celebration was followed by the opening performance of the play, The Twilight of the Golds by Jonathan Tollins, starring Annabel Linder, Michael de Pinna, Daniel Janks, Caryn Katz and Clayton Boyd and directed by Maralin Vanrenen.
