Magic carpet ride at Peoples Theatre
BRAAMFONTIEN – Prince Ali will show you a whole new world when you check out Aladdin at the Peoples Theatre during the March and April school holidays.
Prepare yourselves for a magical journey and don’t be surprised when you find your adult-self singing along to classics like Whole New World, Friend Like Me and Prince Ali.
For the first time, Disney’s Aladdin Jr will be wowing crowds of all ages as Aladdin sweeps Princess Jasmine off her feet, thanks to some help from the hilarious Genie and his monkey friend, Abu.
Directed by Jill Girard and Keith Smith, the spectacular production will have a number of gorgeous sets and colourful costumes as well as an incredible cast. The talented Aidan Hyland will play the part of Aladdin while the gorgeous Sarah Malherbe will take on the role of Jasmine. Joining them on stage will be Noni Mkhonto as Lago the parrot, Andile Magxaki as the Sultan and Genie and Sean McGrath as Jafar while Samantha Jacobs takes up the extra parts.
“Disney’s Aladdin Jr is a show for the whole family, a magic carpet ride of genie’s lamps and adventure,” says Girard.
“The story from the tales of Arabian Nights or the Thousand and One Nights has proved immensely popular and is a firm favourite with elaborate sets and costumes, beautiful music and loads of audience participation!” added Smith.
Disney’s Aladdin Jr will be showing at the Peoples Theatre from 7 March to 1 May.
