The fourth annual Parkmore Halloween Parade attracted around 750 people from the community for a spooky walk around the Parkmore suburb on 28 October.
Chairperson of the Parkmore Community Association (PCA), Kate Wardle said, “The streets were packed with people, with volunteers decorating houses and dishing out sweets. Young and old had a great time walking around the ‘hood.”
Wardle extended her thanks to Imke and Ignaz Fuesgen for organising much of the event and those who volunteered their homes for trick-or-treat stops and those who donated sweets for the event. She also extended thanks to Mike Engelbrecht and his sons for their help and 24/7 security for their help in directing traffic and Sandton Sports Club for hosting the event.
“Thanks, Parkmore, for your amazing community spirit!” added Wardle.

Members of the community dressed in various Halloween-themed outfits for the free walk around the Parkmore area.
Community members expressed their thanks on Facebook for a well-organised fun event. Laura Faustino said, “Was so much fun! The kids and adults alike had a blast. Thank you. Well done to PCA.”
