Mad makes a difference
The topic for the next Making a Difference (Mad) meeting in Rivonia is Changing habits and routines to prevent crime.

“We must not forget that our domestic workers and gardeners are very vulnerable but bad habits and routines are good news for the criminals”, said Mad founder, Penny Steyn.
According to Steyn, domestic workers can be the eyes and ears of the police but need to take charge of the property where they work, and where most of them live.
“When they or their employers become victims it is so often a case of not knowing any better, so this lesson is packed with very smart ideas on how to fool the criminals. We have to be one step ahead of them, it must start by empowering and enlightening our precious employees on what to do and what not to do,” said Steyn. Steyn urges employers to allow their employees to attend the one-hour session, which takes place once a month.
The next Rivonia meeting takes place at the Rivonia Village Hall on 23 August.
