Celebrating womens work

A CENTENARY celebration for a women’s organisation.

The Women’s International Zionist Organisation celebrated its 100th Birthday in style.

Guests gathered at The World of Yamaha for an evening of entertainment and good food. There was a visual display during the night that portrayed the organisation’s beneficiaries. Dina Diamond was the programme director for the evening. Diamond welcomed guests and dignitaries to the celebration. Michael Freeman, the deputy Israeli ambassador addressed the crowd and praised the organisation for its contribution to women and children who are in need.

A DVD presentation followed, taking the audience on a trip down memory lane of the 100 years of the organisation in Johannesburg.

Singers, Janice Lurie Baskind and Debbie Fleminger Mizrachi entertained the crowd, and comedienne Tracey Klass kept the audience in hysterics for the remainder of the evening. To wrap up the party, an enormous birthday cake was brought onto the stage and the guests sang Happy Birthday to mark the organisation’s centenary celebration.
