Goodbye to Sandton’s Bee whisperer

Terry Winchester’s special brand of magic touched the lives of thousands of people.

The best selling author and regular contributor to the Sandton Chronicle passed away earlier this month.

Winchester pioneered his now famous MindFrame Technique with love, compassion and humour.

From the time he was a young man struggling to find his feet in Rhodesia, Winchester began to question the path his life would take. This can be seen in in his two best-selling books The Secret of Happiness – It’s all in the Mind and Only your thoughts can upset you. A third book, The Way Home is about to be published.

He challenged the spiritual tenets which assure that ‘all your needs are met’ by travelling penniless to New York City on a one way ticket, living in a cave on the banks of the Ganges River and soaring with eagles in the majestic Himalayan mountains. He found the answer and offered ‘it’ to the world.

Winchester was honoured last year with a special award in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia for his lifetime contribution to the sciences of hypnotherapy and mind power techniques. Other than Nelson Mandela, Winchester is the only South African to have received a Brand Laureate personality award.

Winchester’s other great passion was a tireless mission to save South Africa’s natural bee population from extinction at the hands of exterminators. Holistic and humane bee keeping is vital for the survival of mankind.

Known as the ‘bee-whisperer’, Winchester could talk bees out of inaccessible locations without harming them or receiving a single sting.

Winchester always said: “Respect the humble honey bee and you will enjoy the nectar of life.”

Winchester’s wife, Lauren, family and staff will continue to keep the Winchester Foundation and AA Bee Removals prospering in memory of his 40 year adventure. His legacy will live on.

His wife had the following to say: “To my darling husband, lover and best friend in the whole world. May you rest in peace, bathed in the most beautiful sheath of love and light. You have finally gone home with the angels, and are flying free. You will forever be in my heart and sorely missed for eternity. We will find each other again, that is a certainty. We were blessed to have shared some of the funniest and most memorable moments I have had in my life. Ever your loving wife, Lauren.”
