School Zumbathon raises R10 000 for cancer

THE Glamping4Charity team ran a Zumbathon at St Stithians School to raise funds for cancer.

Linda Perlov and seven of her friends wanted to raise awareness and funds for the Childhood Cancer Foundation South Africa.

One of the foundation homes in Soweto that provides a home for children with cancer needs a revamp and financial support. Perlov said the foundation home accommodated children who did not need to be hospitalised, but who needed treatment every day.

The community was invited to participate in a charity initiative and enjoy a two hour session of Zumba at the school.

“We raised an incredible amount of R10 000 in the two hours,” she said. Vitamin Water and Fruize Pops joined in as sponsors for the day. Perlov said the two sponsors supplied a generous amount of refreshments to all those at the event.

“Cancer has touched so many of us and this event proved yet again how close to home this disease is. Help us help children with this disease,” she added.
