According to the school’s communications manager Florent Moignard, the carnival is a French tradition.
“Every year in February in France, children disguise themselves in costumes and walk in the streets in a parade to show how they dress up,” said Moignard.
The carnival is a way to showcase French culture to South African and foreign students. “It is also an opportunity to get students, parents and teachers together,” he added.
Pupils of various nationalities that attend the school ended up around a snack table and shared treats with each other.
