Millions raised for the children

The bank held a celebratory event and handed over the cheque to the foundation at its head offices in Sandown. The money was raised through the Momentum 94.7 Cycle Challenge, and children aged between three and 18 fighting life-threatening illnesses will benefit from the money.

Bronwyn Feldwick-Davis of the foundation said, “This brings the total amount raised since 2007 to over R3 million, making Nedbank Dream Riders one of the foundation’s biggest fundraising initiatives. All the money raised by the cyclists goes directly to fulfilling dreams for children fighting life-threatening illnesses.”

She said one of the children suffering from severe aplastic anemia had a dream of becoming a fashion designer and through the fundraising proceeds, the child was given the opportunity to meet one of South Africa’s top designers, Gert Johan Coetzee. “The cherry on top was when she had her own mini fashion shoot,” added Feldwick-Davis.

The 25-year-old wish-granting organisation continues to bring hope, joy and healing to children living with life threatening illnesses.
