Pikitup workers embark on illegal strike
JOBURG - The City of Joburg’s waste management entity Pikitup would like to notify residents that on 8 May an illegal work stoppage occurred at its Marlboro depot.

As a result no services were rendered to all the areas serviced on Thursdays by the Marlboro depot.
The areas which have been affected are: Woodmead, Buccleuch, Morningside, Morningside Ext 40, Gallo Manor, Sunninghill, Rivonia, Khyberock, and in Alexandra: Rivererpark, Eastbank and Westbank.
Residents are advised to keep their bins out as Pikitup management is currently trying to find a resolution to resolve the issues as well as working on a recovery plan to collect the backlog. Pikitup apologises for any inconvenience caused.
