This event will be the warm up to the 30th Nedbank Cape Winemakers Guild Auction to be held in Stellenbosch on 4 October. The showcase will take place at the Nedbank head office on Rivonia Road, from 6pm to 9pm.
The event gives wine lovers the opportunity to taste the selection of rare and sought after wines to go under the hammer this year.
Benchmarking more than 30 years of wine-making excellence with wines of remarkable lineage and enduring quality, the showcase comprises 45 winemakers who jointly represent the pinnacle of South African wine achievement.
The showcase affords wine enthusiasts the opportunity to taste these small volume, cutting edge auction wines as well as other acclaimed flagship wines of guild members in an interactive, walk-around tasting hosted by the winemakers themselves.
Attendees will also have the opportunity to bid on rare signed bottles from previous auctions in aid of the Nedbank Development Trust. Founded in 1999, the trust assists with education, training and empowerment within the wine industry and includes the Guild’s Protégé Programme, a mentorship scheme for young, upcoming winemakers.
