Retirement village honours staff
BRYANSTON - The Lodge retirement village honoured their dedicated staff with a long service award.
The Lodge is a retirement village in the heart of Bryanston, officially opened in 1984. Board member Felicity Brandt said many of the staff had been working at The Lodge for more than 10 years, and the residents wanted to pay tribute to their dedicated service through the awards.
Brandt said, “The staff here, whether nurses or cleaners, really are fantastic with older people. They are very warm, compassionate and caring. They get to know everyone and have built relationships with the people living here over the years.”
Matron Paula Lenny, who has worked at the Lodge for 20 years said, “My 20 years here have been happy and challenging. I’ve seen many comings and goings and have built a lot of relationships. Having the residents recognise our work was very rewarding.”
