The championships is an extreme version of triathlon involving a 750m swim, 25km mountain bike ride and 6km trail run.
Ferreira was one of three South Africa Junior Elite Protea members who took part in this extreme triathlon championships. All three finished in the top 10. Ferreira qualified for the championships after taking part in the South African Championships earlier this year where he came third.
Ferreira said, “I had an amazing experience in Germany, I met so many wonderful people who all love the same sport I do. I had an awesome race without any glitches and managed to come sixth overall in the junior elite. I look forward to racing World Champs next year.”
