Good nutrition equals good health
BRYANSTON - The Bryanston Country Club hosted a series of workshops and seminars led by renowned nutritionist Patrick Holford from 10 to 12 October.

Holford is a British nutritionist and author of 36 books promoting alternative medical practices to prevent health problems such as Alzheimers and diabetes. The workshops marked Holford’s 10th visit to South Africa, as he promoted his new best selling books Burn Fat Fast and Good Medicine, and gave an enthusiastic audience a detailed overview on the benefits of a balanced diet.
“Your pain, your cancer, your indigestion, acid reflux, low mood, anxiety, insomnia, asthma, eczema, angina, sinus problems, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, or whatever else it is you suffer from, is not caused by a lack of drugs but the rather the food and lifestyle choices you have made in the past,” said Holford.
In his most recent book Good Medicine, which was the primary focus for the seminars, Holford sets out a complete guide on the safest, natural ways to help prevent a variety of diseases. The book covers over 75 of the world’s most common health problems and offers nutritional solutions to help prevent or reverse them. Holford said that the solutions presented have all been tried and tested and have been proven to work, both in clinical research and in practice.
With regards to the health of South African’s, Holford advised that residents eat more fish, remove sugar from their diet and consume more vitamin C.
