Security beefed up in Riverclub

RIVERCLUB - The Riverclub Security Village has been provided with a patrol-and-response vehicle by security company, Securitas.

“We are delighted that our security area has been provided with a dedicated patrol-and-response vehicle,” said John Counihan, the chairperson of the Riverclub Security Village committee. He said a service level agreement was signed between the committee and Securitas regarding the control of the boomed access to the area.

Securitas issued a patrol-and-response vehicle to the community because a high percentage of residents living inside the boomed area already hold private contracts with the security company. The initiative is aimed at strengthening the security of residents.

Counihan added that the combination of the multiple contracts with Securitas has enabled the provision of a dedicated patrol-and-response vehicle. “This means that there is a permanent security presence in the area, and the response time to incidents or residents’ alarms is down to two to three minutes,” explained Counihan. “This all serves to enhance Riverclub Security Village’s reputation as a relatively secure area in Bryanston.”

Ward 103 councillor, Vincent Earp was thanked for his dedication in liaising with the relevant council agencies to facilitate the speedy resumption of services such as power and water supply as well as correcting potholes.

“If a community works together, anything is possible,” said Earp. “The committee is made up of dedicated and enthusiastic residents who are prepared to go the extra mile to make their suburb safe and secure for all the families residing in the enclosure.”
