There’s business in Hip-Hop culture
ILLOVO - The Gordon Institute of Business Science in Illovo will explore what business can learn from Hip-Hop artists like Jay Z on 12 February.

The theme of the forum will be creating brands that resonate with millennials and it will take place at the school campus from 6pm to 7.30pm.
Jay Z, P Diddy, Kanye West and South African Hip-Hop star JR are household names not only because of the music they have created, but also for their impact on culture and mainstream business brands.
Brand architect, Alan Hilburg, is an author of two New York Times best sellers on leadership and is an Academy-Award nominee as he explores the impact of Hip-Hop on modern day culture, brand building and consumer loyalty. Hilburg has recently helped engineer an emotional branding campaign with JR, as well as a leading South African brand.
During his talk, he will detail how the team won over business leaders that are not Hip-Hop fans. He will also explore how brands monetise their collaboration with popular musicians and how mainstream businesses ensure they ignite the passion of young consumers without alienating others. Hilburg will detail how leading brands connect with the influential millennial market.
JR also is expected to perform two songs from his new album at the event.
