Gautrain experiences power loss; trains delayed

SANDTON - Gautrain experienced a loss of power on the overhead powerlines on the evening of 12 March which resulted in the trains being delayed.

The Gautrain tweeted that they had experienced a power loss and that technicians were working to resolve the problem. They apologised to commuters for the inconvenience.

The delays were experienced on the airport line. Trains stopping at Marlboro were therefore also affected.

One commuter told Sandton Chronicle that it took 35 minutes for the train to travel from the Rosebank station to the Sandton station.

The Gautrain tweeted that Gautrain buses would take commuters to the airport from the Sandton station in order to avoid delays on the train.

The Gautrain was running with 20 minute delays at around 7.30pm.
