Over 100 residents attended the open day, with some queuing from 6.30am to have their numerous billing problems sorted out.
Director Communications and Stakeholder Management at the Revenue Shared Services Centre, Kgamanyane Maphologela said, “Some customers were all smiles as they left with their queries resolved; this after the expert customer relations agents tackled their queries.”
He added that there was a growing demand for the open day since it started in 2011 and the City has been striving to give residents from all over Johannesburg the opportunity to have their questions answered and their accounts resolved.
“We are bringing the services to our customers’ doorstep and encourage them to make use of the opportunity. We want to go the extra mile by prioritising our customers,” said Maphologela.
Excited residents brought files full of letters and reference numbers to the various agencies such as Johannesburg Water and City Power.
Amanda Oosthuizen from Linden said, “I’m really happy. I’ve had a long-standing query with the City of Joburg and today I can say that I’m really happy. Well done City of Joburg.”
