Marketing co-ordinator at the school Lauren Streng said, “This year, Bryanston High School will for the first time in South Africa, present an amateur production of Our House.”
Set in poorer quarters of London in the ’80s, the original production Our House was performed in 2002 and was based on the music by ’80s English band The Madness and focuses on how the youngsters of the era coped with the pressures of the time.
Afrikaans teacher and members of the show’s production team Phyllis Turvey said the show is, “Full of fun and nonsense, a theatrical showcase of beautiful dancing, singing and acting”.
Streng added, “The pupils and production team at Bryanston High School have been preparing rigorously to bring this production to life. And with the backing of major industry heavy weights such as Mark Klein, who has put a phenomenal amount of time, effort and equipment into the show, it is sure to be most entertaining.”
