The hotel based in Sandton, unveiled its Winter Wonderland menu for July and hosted its corporate social investment initiatives across the city.
Claudia Henkel, public relations manager for Sun International, said as part of their initiative the company had given 100 blankets to the Alexandra clinic.
“The collected blankets have been distributed to orphans and the elderly and is part of the July month-long drive to keep people warm,” she said.
Additionally, the hotel group also launched a pop-up soup kitchen special truck, which will travel to townships and informal settlements in Johannesburg and its surrounds to provide hearty and nourishing meals for these communities.
Chef at the hotel, Jason Millar said the Winter Wonderland menu would feature dishes which would set the hotel apart and make his team a force to be reckoned with in “Joburg’s fast-changing food and vibrant social culture”.
The menu will be available through July and patrons are asked to donate to the hotel’s social initiative.
