Etihad Airways moves into Sandton
SANDTON - Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, relocated to their new premises in Sandton.

“The move makes sound business sense from both a local and regional perspective,” said Maurice Phohleli, Etihad Airways’ vice-president of Africa Sub-Sahara and Indian Ocean.
“The South African team will be sitting in with the regional team and some of our equity partners, engendering better efficiencies across both teams.”
Speaking on local operations, general manager the South African office John Friel added, “Our growth in-country has been steady since 2007 when we first established an office in South Africa. We are committed to growing our operations, and that is why we are brokering long-term strategic partnerships with other players and stakeholders in the sector.”
Friel said with this move, they were now strategically positioned in the heart of the city’s economic pulse, and within convenient reach of corporate and individual clients, existing partners, stakeholders and possible new ventures.
Etihad Airways’ country office in South Africa was established in 2007, and currently operates two daily flights from Johannesburg to Abu Dhabi.
