Hyde Park pupils share love and knowledge of English

HYDE PARK - A group of pupils from Hyde Park High School displayed their love and wealth of knowledge of the English language at the National English Olympiad and achieved top results.

A total of 21 certificates were awarded to the pupils, with Grade 10 pupil Tahlia Naidu and Grade 12 pupils Kahlan House and Suhail Vawda receiving gold certificates.

Spokesperson of the school, Avril Wright said, “The school’s English department places emphasis on enjoying the wonder and mastery of the English language and encourages all pupils to read.

“In this modern, fast-paced, electronic world it is vital that a love of reading is fostered in the school’s students. This philosophy ensures that the pupils have a strong command of English, which is reflected in their results.”
