World record to be broken for Joost
BRYANSTON - Local resident and 50 times record holder Andre van Zijl will be hosting a four-day boerewors braai at Sloane Park Shopping Centre in aid of the J9 Foundation from 11 February to 14 February.

Van Zijl is planning to set his 51st world record by braai’ng the most boerewors rolls in four days with the aim to raise between R60 000 and R120 000 for the J9 Foundation. The foundation, which founded by former South African rugby player Joost van der Westhuizen, attempts offer support to those suffering from Motor Neuron Disease.
The confident Van Zijl recently set a record after spending five days in a tree to raise awareness during 16 Days of Activism for No Violence Against Women and Children in George last year, and he invites all residents to come through to Sloane Park Shopping Centre to show their support.
Boerewors roll will cost R30 each.
