BRYANSTON – What started as a small leak of water from a burst pipe on 14 April on Chesham Road in Bryanston turned into a huge spray on the afternoon of 18 April.

A resident on the road lodged a formal complaint with Joburg Water on 14 April when the pipe was leaking from a minor burst. The resident alleged that Joburg Water only attended to the leak on 18 April, and that after doing so, the burst in the pipe worsened and a huge spray of water started spraying onto the road.
Sandton Chronicle journalist Michael Butler visited the scene at around 5pm on 18 April and found that Joburg Water would get a team to work on the burst pipe this evening.
