Robberies and assault in Sandton

SANDTON – Bramley Police arrest suspects linked to robbery and assault.

 

Two cases of robbery and one case of assault were reported at Bramley Police Station last week.

Warrant officer, Moses Maphakela, spokesperson for the station, said that the one incident was a business burglary and three suspects were arrested. “The complainant received a power failure notification and rushed to the address on Sandton Drive in Parkmore where he discovered three unknown males between the ages of 24 and 28, in a change room. They were arrested and detained at Bramley Police Station.”

The second robbery took place on the corner of William Nicol and Sandton drives. Maphakela elaborated, “The victim was approached by two unknown male suspects, one armed with a small pistol. The suspects knocked on her window, and after she opened it, demanded her cellphone and wedding ring.”

In the third incident, an assault occurred on the corner of 1st Avenue and 2nd Street in Marlboro. “The victim was walking at night with her friend when they saw the suspect, who is know to them, approach them with a sharp object in his hand.

“The suspect then threw the object at them, which hit the victim in the leg and she sustained a cut. The victim was taken to Alex Clinic for medical assistance and the suspect was arrested and detained,” concluded Maphakela.
