Help a centre to grow

SANDTON – If you're looking for ways to help the community, read how the Thuthuzela Aid Community Centre needs your help.

The Thuthuzela Aid Community Centre, an orphanage and daycare centre in Alexandra, is urging community members to donate funding which will assist the centre to purchase new premises.

“The orphanage provides a safe space for Alexandra’s abandoned, abused and neglected children and aims to educate, care and develop children further to give them a chance to enhance their future,” said Elizabeth Monyela, director and founder.

According to Monyela, currently 17 children are housed at Thuthuzela. “Each child follows a specially designed programme to assist with health, education and social needs.

“Our children are growing up into teenagers and will need their own space as soon as possible. The new home will come at a time when we can provide A safe space for the two genders, and will be set up to make dormitories,” said Monyela.

Community members interested in donating funds or helping the centre in other ways should contact Monyela.
