Festive greetings from Sandton police

SANDTON - Seasons greetings from Sandton Police Station.

Sandton Police Station Commander Brigadier Egen Moodley, on behalf of the station’s management, wished the Sandton community a peaceful, safe and Merry Christmas as well as a prosperous New Year.

“I encourage everyone to enjoy the festive season responsibly with due regard to the privacy and rights of others. Sandton [police] and other law enforcement agencies will be increasing the deployment of police personnel over the festive period in support of the national and provincial Safer Festive Season plans,” said Moodley.

Crime prevention operations, including social crime prevention awareness campaigns, drunk driving operations and suspect tracing operations have commenced and will continue throughout the festive season.

“I request everyone to be co-operative and patient during police actions such as roadblocks and vehicle control points.

“I also wish to place on record my sincere thanks and appreciation to the Sandton Community Police Forum and its sector crime forums, the participants of the Sandton Security Forum (which includes security companies, Metro police, ratepayers’/residents’ organisations and ward councillors) for their continued support and tireless efforts, during 2016 to jointly prevent crime in partnership with the police. I look forward to sustaining and enhancing the security forum during 2017. A special word of thanks to the volunteers of the Sandton Police Victim Empowerment Programme for their invaluable assistance to victims of crime.”
