According to James Barnes, branch manager at Complete Cyclist Bryanston, a total of 13 bicycles and 30 pairs of Oakley sunglasses were stolen. “The suspects broke through the glass at the front of the shop and proceeded to carry the merchandise out,” he said.
According to Barnes, 19 bicycles were taken out of the store and six damaged bicycles were found along the road towards Sandton Clinic.
Barnes said the social media reports, which estimate the value of the stolen goods at R3.2 million, were incorrect and that the total loss is still being finalised.
A reward is being offered to anyone with information that would lead to the arrest of the suspects.
