Educational security show

SANDTON – ADT will be running a educational security show for pre-primary and primary school children.

ADT will be running a children’s security educational show which is hosted by Johannesburg entertainer, Darin McDowall.

The show will include an interactive show on home safety skills for pre-primary and primary school children.

The Baddies and Buddies show focuses on:

  • Bullying
  • Home robberies
  • Keeping belongings safe
  • Being alert – by paying attention to surroundings, how to get help/police/panic buttons etc
  • Stranger danger
  • Respecting our fellow South Africans.

McDowall also speaks about personal safety, including children not putting pills in their mouths without asking their parents first; dangers in the kitchen; electricity safety including not touching or pulling plugs, not playing with fire, matches, lighters or candles; the danger of playing with guns; how to behave around dogs; and home invasion – what to do if a stranger comes into your house.

The fun-filled show has been successfully rolled out in Gauteng and in the Western Cape to rave reviews from teachers and schoolchildren.

The security company said children were never too young to be educated and made aware, in a non-threatening manner, of the dangers that exist in our society. McDowall has a fun, friendly way of addressing these pertinent issues and he has found the happy medium as this show keeps the children both informed and entertained.

The show takes place on 28 February at 10.30am at Bryanston Primary School.

The shows are hosted by ADT free of charge to the schools.
