The High School Serviam Committee for 2018 and representative of the PTA Mother’s Lunch Committee at Brescia House School participated in an educational talk on feminine hygiene at Witkoppen Primary School on 11 October.
The team from Brescia House School raised money through a Mother’s Lunch at the Bryanston Country Club in June, which was used to purchase re-usable sanitary wear from Subz Pants and Pads. Each girl at Witkoppen Primary School, aged between 11 and 15, was given sanitary products designed to last for the next three years.
Beth Moody of the Brescia House PTA said, “Our aim for this donation is to reduce absenteeism and dropout rates at Witkoppen School, and increase the opportunities for the girls to complete their education.”

The handover coincided with International Day of the Girl, a day adopted by the United Nations General Assembly to recognise girls’ rights and the unique challenges they face around the world.
By assisting Witkoppen School in this way, Brescia House School took their stand with the global community to support girls’ progress across the world.
