Two Crawford College Sandton schoolchildren wrote the National Science Olympiad which comprised sections on physics and chemistry.
Byeongchan Kim and Tomer Melnik were selected to represent South Africa at the 50th International Chemistry Olympiad taking place in Prague, Czech Republic, in July next year.
The final team to represent South Africa will be selected after writing two more selection tests in January and February.
The level of the chemistry at the ICHO is first- and second-year university level.
Denise Hudson-Lamb, senior science teacher at Crawford College Sandton said they are very proud of these Crawfordians and wish them well for the upcoming tests.
